It is Day 7 and I have learned SO much beyond Armagh and Irish history, thanks to my classmates. They are all brilliant and our dynamic is joyous. Last night, after arriving at The Barge, that the kitchen aboard was closed! We were famished, withering away and cranky after a long day of fast bells. So began our desperate search for food. In Belfast, (and Armagh,) most businesses close around 530p or 600p. This posed a problem, as it was already nearing 9 o’clock. After power walking blocks and blocks of screened storefront, we finally found The Morningstar Pub! The staff greeted us with open arms and sat us in a corner table. The conversation was easy and at one point, we began singing “Under Pressure” with Queen and David Bowie. Our waiter turned up the music for us. Following many “Cheers” to America, to how awesome we are, and the like, we demolished 6 bacon cheese burgers, a bowl of seafood chowder, Thai curry, and bowls of chips with all the ketchup and mayo in the world. Thanks Belfast and friends for a lovely 4th of July celebration. 🙂
